What is Quality Assurance (QA)?
In short, QA refers to those planned and systematic activities necessary to provide adequate confidence that a product or service will satisfy given requirements for quality. QA implies the involvement of all employees concerned, from President / Chairman to the assembly line worker.
QA involves planning the task, identifying problems throughout the manufacturing cycle, with the goal of making things Right the First Time, Every Time. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is a federation of national standardization bodies based in Geneva, Switzerland, promotes the development of globally recognized quality management standards to facilitate international trade. Since 1987, ISO 9000 systems have been recognized and adopted by 55 countries, including the USA and EC and now serve as a base for manufacturing in those countries to attest to the effectiveness of quality assurance systems.

What about the buyer who only wants his product in the requested quality and delivery time?
SAAB APPLIANCES LIMITED has developed a customer oriented version of the ISO 9000 standard;
we call it the SAAB System 9000.

The main objectives in introducing SAAB System 9000 are,
* To prevent unsafe product leaving the factory.
* To ensure that all product requirements are clearly stated at the start of the project and that each and every requirement is met during production.
* To ensure that all the documentary evidence required preventing product liability litigation is systematically collected, analyzed and put into the archives.
* To produce and arrange all the necessary documentation for product certification.
* To minimize product losses during production.
* To optimize productivity through the control and evaluation of faulty products.
* To protect internal company systems know how.

The SAAB System 9000 can be implemented step by step in a modular way. Both in terms of content and time it is therefore linked directly and inextricably to the actual experience and needs of each separate project or business, and can, in all respects, truly be said to be tailor made.
SAAB System 9000 provides Management and Operational Tools, in accordance with the IS0 9000 guidelines. Management Tools are documents which provide the means for efficient management and production. Management Tools consist of documents divided into:
* Organizational Regulations.
* Working Procedures.
* Testing Procedures.
* Job description.
Operational Tools are internal company documents which are necessary for the planning, implementation, control and documentation of management and manufacturing processes.

1. Quality test on pre-production sample prior to mass-production (PRS)
We will check the overall quality of the product as well as visually for safety and functional performance in accordance to your specification and requirements and the applicable (safety) standard of the importing country.
Product weaknesses will be reported along with recommendations for improvements. The product can be re-tested until the required quality standard is reached.
We will open and maintain a technical product file to document a complete product history. Hands-on assistance for the manufacturer, this phase is also available through our engineers.
¡¤ Includes Test, Reporting, and 1 x Technical briefing for a manufacturer's representative in our office if necessary.

2. During Production Check (DPC)
Once the production has started we will check whether the improvement, corrections & requirements, as suggested in our Quality test on the pre-production sample were implemented. Further corrective actions, if needed, are advised.
¡¤ Includes 1 x Production check inclusive reporting. A senior Q.C. Engineer will carry out this service

3. Final Random Inspection (FRI)
Once the merchandise is fully produced, packed and in all respects ready for shipment, samples will be selected at random and checked against your specifications and according to "ANSI Z1.4-1970" (correspond to MIL standard 105 E). For your product line we recommended the following AQL for your product line: Critical defects AQL 0.000, Major defects AQL 2.5, and Minor defects AQL 4.0
¡¤ Includes 1 x Inspection and reporting and issuing of the Inspection Certificate if required.

4. Loading Supervision
This additional service can be added on, to ensure that the products, which have been inspected, are actually those being shipped.
The Containers are inspected for suitability and cleanliness and also that the products to be shipped are proper packed and loaded into the right size container.
The loading process will be photo documented and finally the container will be sealed with the shipping line seal.
In the case of less than full container, the consignment will be accompanied to the shipping company warehouse.

5. Instruction Manuals
It is very important to present products packed in a professional manner and appearance, with a readable, user friendly instruction manual and / or warranty card.
We believe that a vital contribution to overall product quality comes from good quality packaging, user manual and other printed matter.
Being client driven, we have our own long established Artwork Department. Even though the time of drawing boards, pencils and glue has now been replaced by latest computer technology, our work still remains of the highest quality.

6. Artwork & Packaging Design
Our Artwork Department specializes in the design and complete development of packaging concepts. We produce Packaging, Photographic Inserts, Manuals, Flyers, Brochures as well as Advertising Materials.
Whether it be a new design, the concept of a new corporate identity, or the development of an exciting new line, our services can include Graphics, Layout, Typesetting, Scanning, Film / Color Separation, Proof Prints, Printing and Binding
A professional design requires professional photographs. Our 'Master of Photography' shows your products in their best colors. Through direct cooperation with the Artwork Department it is possible to achieve optimum results of photographic documentation, as well as a special harmony between product depiction and packaging.

7. ISO 9000 Services
We offer a wide variety of hands-on ISO related services whatever your business may require.
We can audit the production facilities of your supplier to ensure that they are in the position to produce the product you are expecting in respect to quality, quantity and your product specifications.
Audits can be performed, according to client's requirements, or under the ISO 9000 guidelines. Our service will ensure that a manufacturer maintains an efficient internal quality assurance system, enabling them to control all quality and production aspects right from development of the design up to the final product.
